The German club's bright start may be down to the strict new policy around the club's training ground. The former Manchester City captain has, reports, scrapped fines for players who turn up late to training. Instead, they will have to stay at the training ground for as long as Kompany does.
Kompany is also using post-match video analysis to point out the kind of mentality he expects from his players, even moments of little tactical relevance. Players who don't turn up on time are not allowed in for the video analysis.

Kompany used Harry Kane as an example of the mentality he wants his players to embrace, having shown how the star striker kept tracking back in the closing stages of the game against Dinamo Zagreb – even though he had already scored four goals in a 9-2 win.
