Sunderland look as though they could be incredibly active in the transfer window with numerous reports doing the rounds in recent days.
Most recently, potential moves for Sam Winnall and Liam Boyce have been touted but there are also exits very much on the cards.
One-goal Will Grigg has been linked with a departure to Blackpool but on Tuesday, there was a confirmed move away for midfielder Dylan McGeouch.
The club announced that the Scotsman has joined Aberdeen after making 42 appearances.
However, it wasn’t news that was welcomed by a host of supporters who were pretty gutted to see him walk out of the Stadium of Light this month. The reaction was perhaps somewhat surprising given he’d started just five times in 2019/20.
There was further sympathy from other segments of the fanbase as they were quick to laud praise on the 26-year-old who played twice in the Carabao Cup this season.
One individual claimed they rated the central midfielder while another said he was the best they had in his position.
As far as his passing goes, you’d have to speculate against that. McGeouch only completed 74.5% of his passes this term which is worse than Grant Leadbitter, Max Power and George Dobson.
That being said, he made the third-most tackles per game of anyone in the side.
However, other supporters were far more critical of McGeouch as he walked through the exit door. Among the hate was one claim that he was garbage.
It might be a stretch too far to suggest that but an average match rating of just 6.45, via WhoScored, tells a sorry story of his season with the Mackems.

In his final half a season with Sunderland, he failed to score or assist, but that hasn’t prevented himself from earning a move to the Scottish Premiership.
Further reaction to his departure centred around the lack of fee that was seemingly involved in the deal.
Sunderland refused to comment on whether he had been signed for money or whether it was a free transfer which has left two fans to feel somewhat bewildered.
This appears to be the latest attack on the board after an earlier statement on Tuesday that Stewart Donald would look to sell the club rumbled fans.
In other Sunderland news, one new signing could be PERFECT for Phil Parkinson…
