One story has dominated the headlines in football this week as a number of major leagues across the world have postponed their schedules for the foreseeable future.
The MLS, Serie A, La Liga and the Premier League have all cancelled games for the next few weeks as the global pandemic currently sweeping the world takes hold, and unfortunately, things could get worse before they get better.
There is a serious chance that Euro 2020 will become Euro 2021 as discussions about delaying the tournament are ongoing.

Of course, the competition being moved would be a tragedy, but there are a couple of players who stand to gain if it is delayed as Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane are facing a race to be fit for the tournament.
If the Euros are moved, then Kane and Rashford would both have reason to be pleased as they’d be able to come back next year fitter, fresher and hopefully ready to fire the Three Lions to glory.
However, if the tournament is delayed it would be something of a dagger to the heart of Danny Ings.
The striker is in the form of his life at the moment, and aside from Jamie Vardy – who is retired from international football – he’s the highest-scoring Englishman in the Premier League.
Managers were also tipping the striker for a call-up this summer, with Ings’ Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl, and Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers leading the calls – and with 15 goals in 29 league appearances this term, it is very hard to argue with that sentiment.
Indeed, the stars were aligning for Ings to lead the line for Gareth Southgate’s side this summer as Kane and Rashford both picked up serious problems, but if the tournament is delayed the striker may not get such an opportunity.
Kane is England’s captain while Rashford has scored at a similar rate to him this season, and so it’ll be tough for the Southampton man to sustain this form for another year as his historical stats suggest that he’s playing way above his level – his previous best goal tally in a Premier League season was just 11 with Burnley back in 2014/15.
Not only will it be tough for the 27-year-old to keep his level this high, but other contenders could soon emerge with the likes of Mason Greenwood and Eddie Nketiah making break-throughs at Manchester United and Arsenal respectively.
It’s sad to say it, but Ings may have just had the biggest opportunity of his career snatched right from under his nose.
In other news, Southampton need to ditch this transfer policy.
