Lots of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was announced that James McCarthy had left the club to join Crystal Palace.
The Irishman had just one year remaining on his contract with the Toffees, and as a result, joins the Eagles for a fee of just £3m.
McCarthy spent six seasons at Goodison Park, making 133 appearances and scoring six goals since arriving from Wigan, where he won the FA Cup.
The 28-year-old spent a substantial amount of time on the sidelines after breaking his leg against West Brom back in January 2018, and never really worked his way back into the first-team upon his return to fitness.

The midfielder will link up with his former Hamilton and Wigan teammate James McArthur at Selhurst Park, a duo who will be sure to cause some confusion for commentators up and down the country.
