Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies has celebrated signing a new contract with the club by dropping a surprise rap video, to the delight of fans.

Bayern confirmed on Tuesday that Davies has committed his future to the club and penned a contract extension that runs until 2030. The Canada international had reportedly been a target for Real Madrid but has opted to continue with the Bavarian giants and celebrated the extension in unique style by dropping a short rap song on the club's media channels titled 'Munchen my Throne', which has prompted some fans to compare him to American hip hop superstar Kendrick Lamar.

Bayern fans were delighted at the news as well as Davies' video and were quick to react on social media.

Davies has already won five Bundesliga titles and the Champions League with Bayern and will hope to add to his trophy collection over the next five years at the Allianz Arena. He told the club's website: "I am very happy to have extended my contract at this great club. I came to FC Bayern when I was 18 and just wanted to learn as much as possible every day to become one of the best in my position. Now I’m looking forward to another five years together. I’ve already achieved a lot here, but there’s more to come.”
