Schalke wonderkid Julian Draxler has opened the door to a move to Arsenal, according to the Metro.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a whole host of Premier League clubs, as well as European giants Real Madrid and PSG.
But the midfielder has dropped his biggest hint yet of the next club he will play for, speaking highly of Arsene Wenger’s side. And with German international teammates already at the Emirates, Draxler could be convinced to put on a Gunners shirt soon.
“I have always said English teams are very big clubs and Arsenal is of course one of them,” Draxler said.
“They always have very young players, they play attractive football and that’s what I like. You never know what happens – but Arsenal is a very, very nice team.
“Of course I sometimes speak to Mesut Ozil or Per Mertesacker about the team, about the club, and they always have good words and they tell me nice things.”
Draxler has experienced playing against Premier League opposition already this season, starting in both of Schalke’s fixtures against Chelsea in the group stages of the Champions League. The Germans lost both matches 3-0.
But despite the great amount of interest, the German has insisted he will remain at the Veltins-Arena for the remainder of the season.
“I won’t switch in the winter,” he added.
“I’ve said every summer I have to look what is the best for me and I will do in the summer again and we will see what happens.”
How much would you like to see Draxler in a Arsenal shirt? What would he add to Wenger’s side?
