The Premier League returned from an international break this weekend and after absorbing a weekend full of goals and talking points, we sure have missed it.
Gameweek 13 marks a third of the way through the season for all teams and with a busy December ahead, teams were desperate to get three points.
A top of the table clash between Tottenham and Chelsea at Wembley dominated the weekend but there were also a number of shocks and achievements elsewhere.
From David De Gea’s 250th appearance to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s incredible record, we take a look at all things you may have missed during the weekend.
David Luiz’s Poor Defending
It was a night to forget for David Luiz who struggled to deal with Tottenham’s attacking football at Wembley.
The Brazilian was all over the place at times alongside Antonio Rudiger as Tottenham started strongly.
Luiz was slated by fans and pundits for turning his back on Harry Kane’s shot from distance that left keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga stranded.
Lerma Own Goal
We don’t think it’s been achieved before, but Jefferson Lerma has a real chance of winning goal of the month for November with an own goal.
The Colombian was merely trying to intercept Sead Kolasinac’s pull-back but ended up volleying it into his own net past Asmir Begovic.
Juan Foyth Living On The Edge
Argentinian defender Juan Foyth has had a peculiar start to life in the Premier League and it continued at Wembley on Saturday.
The 20-year-old was playing in his third Premier League game after giving away two penalties on his debut and scoring Spurs’ winner in his second.
With Spurs leading early on, Foyth gave Spurs fans a fright by bundling over Chelsea’s Eden Hazard in the penalty area. Luckily for him, referee Martin Atkinson thought there wasn’t enough contact. There definitely was.
Ranieri Effect
After being announced as Fulham boss earlier in the week, Claudio Ranieri took charge of his first game as he aims to keep the Cottagers in the Premier League.
He made a good start, coming from behind against Southampton thanks to goals from Aleksandr Mitrovic and Andre Schurrle.
Ryan Sessegnon Flourished
It was clear to see that under Ranieri, Fulham play a more direct style, a style that served Leicester so well during his tenure.
One player that is surely to flourish in this style is Ryan Sessegnon, who set-up two of Fulham’s three goals on Saturday.
Under Slavisa Jokanovic, he almost looked stifled in his position on the left, hopefully he can start to show his promise under the Italian.
Dele Again
If Dele Alli had the option, he would play Chelsea every week.
The England international scored Tottenham’s opener on Saturday, making it six goals in six matches against the West London club.
Chelsea’s Unbeaten Run Ends
Chelsea’s defeat on Saturday night at Wembley was their first in all competitions this season, if you take out the Community Shield loss at the start of August.
Maurizio Sarri was gutted about his team’s loss and in his post-match interview claimed not one single player had played well.
David De Gea’s 250th Appearance
David De Gea made his 250th Premier League appearance and he celebrated with a clean sheet at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace.
The Spaniard is 20th in most Premier League appearances by goalkeepers, with David James (572) on top of the pile.
Vardy Penalty King
At 31, Jamie Vardy isn’t getting as much time on the pitch as he might like and thanks to a groin injury found himself on the subs bench.
But he proved once again that he’s still got it as he came on for Leicester to score the equalising penalty at the Amex Stadium.
His conversion meant he has now scored 12 of his last 14 penalties. Clinical.
